Huskers impress Colorado offensive lineman Carson Lee
2020 Cherry Creek HS lineman Carson Lee swung through Lincoln this weekend to check out the Huskers after picking up an offer mid-May. An interior offensive lineman, Carson stands 6-4 300lbs and joins teammate Michael Lynn in holding offers from Nebraska.
While the trip was a shorter one, Lee had a terrific time meeting the coaches and getting a quick tour around Lincoln with his parents and little brother.
“I sat down with Coach Austin and had a great talk with him for about 2 hours. I loved the whole staff and how they made my whole family feel welcome up there and as if they were family. They loved it. Especially my little brother as he was able to put on a #75 jersey since that’s his number.”
Had an amazing visit at the University of Nebraska today, great things are happening up in Lincoln!! Thank you @GregAustin2717 @coach_frost @SeanDillonNU and @BarrettRuud for the hospitality #GBR🌽 @SixZeroStrength @CCNextLevelFB pic.twitter.com/QR5oanYIkF

While the Huskers have a storied on-field rivalry with the home state Buffaloes, the young lineman is focused on keeping his options open and taking the recruiting process as it comes.
“I always watched CU since they were in our backyard. And getting an offer from them last month meant a lot but I’m exploring my options and have an open mind to every school that is interested in me”
With over a dozen offers in-hand and more coming every week, Lee is focused on seeing more schools this summer with visits to Oklahoma State and Utah on the calendar right now.
Colorado has long been a state that the Huskers have turned to for talent with multiple players on the roster. On a national scale, Lee and other players have noticed an increase in big-time programs swinging through the state the last few years.
“It’s been crazy what’s going on here, we’re finally getting some of the recognition Colorado deserves. It’s crazy to see the types of programs coming and offering now.”
With big-time programs competing for Colorado players, the Huskers have put themselves in a great position with Carson Lee. The Huskers are set to host a return visit from the lineman after Lee gave his visit a high ranking and found a friendly family connection to the Big Red.
“I would rate the trip a 9. The only thing that would have made it a 10 is if I would have been able to see the living arrangements and the academics part of the school.”
“I’m bringing my uncle up for the CU game (this fall), he’s a die-hard Nebraska fan.”
With a strong visit on the books, the Huskers and Lee have built a solid relationship to start from. A visit this fall would certainly help strengthen the Huskers chances with the Colorado native.
